After last year, it’s safe to say we all need a vacation. And with the frequent addition of new direct flights from Birmingham, we have some tempting options. So, are you already excited?

We’ve put together some of our top recommendations from BHM. Flying is much more complicated these days, so we stick to direct flights to avoid unnecessary stopovers or potential delays.

Keep in mind that these reflect current flights, but schedules are always subject to change. Safe travel!

1. Non-stop flights to Baltimore, Maryland:

Home to crab cakes, the National Aquarium and the Baltimore Orioles, this Mid-Atlantic stop is not to be missed. Southwest recently announced that they will be adding a direct flight providing non-stop service to Baltimore / Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport (BWI).

If Baltimore isn’t appealing enough, BWI also gives easy access to places like the East shore, Annapolis and Washington DC.

2. Direct flights from Birmingham to Miami, FL:

Home to endless fun and sunshine, Miami is the perfect getaway. It is easily accessible from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport, with regular direct flights on American Airlines.

Our best Miami recs? Hit the scenic beaches, visit one of the coolest in the country outdoor street art installations, or embrace Cuban culture by Little Havana. The city is also home to some delicious meal with strong Latin and Caribbean influences, so come hungry!

3. Nonstop to New York, NY:

Whether you’re new to the Big Apple or a regular at the Big Apple, these direct flights make getting into the city even easier.

The recommendations for activities in New York are simply endless. If this is your first visit, you can’t miss classic tourist attractions like The empire state building, Times Square and Brooklyn Bridge.

Seasoned visitors might enjoy New York’s unrivaled international food scene or a Broadway show.

4. Direct flights from Birmingham to Orlando, Florida:

Head to the happiest place on Earth and leave the air links behind. With several airlines offering direct service to Orlando, you have no excuse to miss the mouse.

If you are looking for alternative entertainment, Orlando do not miss. Of manatee encounters at zip line in the territory of alligators, there is something for everyone.

5. Non-stop service to Denver, CO:

Head west with this direct service to Denver and in about three hours you’ll be in the land of craft brews and supreme hikes, with the Rockies as a backdrop.

Don’t miss the Denver Beer Trail or rafting and outdoor adventure galore nearby Clear stream. If you are lucky you can also catch a show in the iconic city Amphitheater of the Red Rocks.
