Azman Air passengers stranded for 24 hours in Kano

Azman Airlines passengers have been stranded at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) for more than 24 hours.

Some passengers had to spend the night in the departures wing of the airport because they did not learn of the rescheduled flight until late in the evening.

Many passengers, traveling to Abuja and Lagos, complained that they were supposed to fly at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, but received the postponement notice around 8:00 p.m.

“I was here yesterday expecting to fly around 4am but these people weren’t even there to tell us anything. Only to be notified around 8pm that the flight had been rescheduled for today ( Sunday). Some of us spent the night here. It’s totally disappointing,” said Jamilu Rabiu, one of the passengers.

Daily Trust has heard from some airport staff that the airline has had problems with aviation oil dispensers.

One of the staff said that many passengers, including women with infants and children, had difficulty getting to their destination or getting to the hotel for the rest of the day.

“Some passengers were here yesterday around 11:00 p.m. They complained to them about the accommodation and they were taken to the hotel. But some left while others stayed here until today” , said an official with the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), who wished to remain anonymous.

However, an airline staff member reportedly said the problem was due to technical difficulties, assuring passengers would fly around 6.30pm (Sunday).

“As you can see, we are now evacuating yesterday’s passengers. We have 4:00 p.m. yesterday and 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. again today. So we are supposed to clean them today (Sunday). »

“One of our planes is arriving in the next hour and we will be releasing yesterday’s passengers and today’s passengers at 7:30 p.m. They have all collected their boarding passes and we are now awaiting the flight,” he said. he declares.

But many passengers expressed doubts about continuing the flight on Sunday, as the official said, because no company planes were on the ground around 4:30 p.m. when our reporter spoke to them.

“My flight is today at 4:00 p.m. but they didn’t allow us because they only considered yesterday’s passengers. So we are not sure of ourselves. We can only wait and see said one of the passengers.
