IHG Hotels & Resorts opens first hotel in Colorado

Those staying near Denver International Airport will have a new hotel option: the city’s first Atwell Suites.

IHG Hotels & Resorts, a global hospitality company with well-known brands like Holiday Inn, InterContinental and more, opens the 96-room property on Thursday. Atwell Suites Denver Airport – Tower Road at 18350 East 65th Ave. is the second property of the brand.

“With proximity to the airport, we know its convenient location as well as the property’s flexible design will appeal to business and leisure travelers looking for an enriching experience,” the hotel owner said. Kendall Combs of KJ Hotel Properties, adding that their team has worked with IHG for over two decades.

It will join the host of other hotels on Tower Road, including Hyatt House Denver Airport, Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver International Airport and Quality Inn & Suites Denver International Airport. They are all located within 15 minutes drive from the airport.

Atwell Suites offers studio, one-, and two-bedroom suites, along with a fitness studio and coworking spaces. A stay includes free breakfast, on-site parking, and free access to a beverage station with an espresso machine. Guests can socialize at the hotel bar or meet at monthly themed events.

A trademark feature is the Morse code phrases hidden in the property’s artwork. The hotel provides its customers with a decoder to unravel the messages.

IHG first announcement the construction of the new hotel in Denver last May, following in the footsteps of Atwell Suites Miami Brickell.

“We congratulate KJ Hotel Properties for being the first to bring this dynamic brand to Colorado and look forward to welcoming guests to the Mile High City,” said Karen Gilbride, vice president of Avid Hotels and Atwell. Suites at IHG.
