Nigerian envoy instructs China on technology transfer and ICT knowledge


The Consul General of the Nigerian Consulate in Shanghai, China, Chimezie Okeoma Ogu, has called for bilateral cooperation between the two countries to be expanded to include the transfer of Chinese knowledge and technological skills to young Nigerians.

Ogu appealed when he paid a courtesy visit to Zing Ming, vice mayor of the Shanghai municipal government, in his office, according to a statement made available to The Daily Trust.

The statement quotes the envoy as calling on the Chinese government to structure its cooperation frameworks to encourage technology transfer to Nigerians.

According to him, the transfer of technical knowledge to Nigerians is critical to the industrialization and economic development of Nigeria.

The envoy also asked his host to grant Nigerian carrier Air Peace permission to fly into Shanghai airport.
