Pikes Peak shuttle batch at Denver International Airport opens on very temporary basis to handle greater passenger load – CBS Denver

DENVER (CBS4) – The Pikes Peak shuttle parking lot at Denver International Airport has been closed for almost a year and a half, but it will open temporarily to handle more travelers for part of this weekend, announced Friday the airport. .

The car park opened at 9 a.m. on Friday and will remain open for vehicle parking only until 5 p.m. on Saturday. It costs $ 8 per day to park there.

Those who park in the car park during this time should expect that the journey from the car park to the terminal via the shuttle will take longer than normal due to staff shortages at the airport. They struggled all year to find enough people to drive their shuttles.

When travelers who park in the shuttle parking lot return from their air travel, they will be able to take a shuttle from the terminal to the parking lot despite the fact that it will be closed to incoming cars.
