Soekarno-Hatta Airport offers electric scooter services

TEMPO.CO, JakartaPublic airport operator Angkasa Pura or AP II has started operating electric motorbikes dubbed the eMoped service at Soekarno-Hatta airport in Tangerang.

“These electric vehicles are being operated to assist in the mobility of workers or people at Soekarno-Hatta airport,” AP II executive general manager of the adjacent company, Yado Yarismano, said on Monday, February 21.

Yado said eMoped, which is developed by Voy, is a shared transportation service for the public. Its use is supported via an app, from activation to usage tracking. He added that this service also supports the implementation of smart airports.

According to him, the starting and ending points of the transportation service are set in the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) area, the office area and a cargo terminal. It will then be made available at Terminal 3.

“The existence of eMoped is focused on helping mobility of workers and people at the airport, so we defined the three routes, namely TOD-offices-cargo terminals,” Yado said.

AP II also ensured that eMoped users must meet predetermined requirements, including wearing a helmet and SIM C card. In addition, the maximum speed must be 25 km/hour.

“With eMoped, we hope that the use of conventional motorized vehicles in the Soekarno-Hatta airport area can be reduced,” Yado said.
