Sydney Airport’s SkyTeam lounge reopens this week

Another opens at Sydney Airport this week, with the SkyTeam lounge once again welcoming international travelers before they fly overseas.

A spokesperson for Plaza Premium Group, which operates the lounge on behalf of the SkyTeam alliance, confirmed Executive Traveler that the SkyTeam lounge reopens on Thursday August 25th in “soft launch” mode – and that it has undergone a significant transformation.

Visitors will enjoy freshly prepared meals from the Live Kitchen and Noodle Bar, with a new dining room, dedicated ‘Quiet Lounge’ space and private work booths.

Sydney’s SkyTeam lounge rolls out the red carpet for business and first class passengers from alliance members – a list that includes Delta Airlines, Korean Air, Taiwan’s China Airlines and Vietnam Airlines – as well as travelers from these economy or premium economy class carriers but holding SkyTeam Elite Plus Status.

That status is readily available through Delta’s SkyTeam member Medallion Status Match Challenge 2022, which targets frequent flyers from Qantas, Virgin Australia and a dozen other competitors.

Located near Gate 25, the SkyTeam Sydney Lounge will initially be open on the following schedule, which is tailored to the schedule of its member airlines.

  • Monday: 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., then 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday: 5:40 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., then 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Friday: 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Saturday: 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

In addition to its own departures lounge at Sydney’s T1, Plaza Premium recently opened an arrivals lounge attached to the airport‘s new Aerotel short-stay transit hotel.
