Volato establishes its first base on the west coast

HondaJet fractional stock provider and charter operator Volato has established its first West Coast base at McClellan-Palomar Airport (KCRQ) in Carlsbad, Calif., bringing its total number of operating bases to six. in the USA. The new basis allows co-owners of the company less than a year old to avoid paying a repositioning fee when boarding their jet at an airport within two hours of KCRQ.

“The Carlsbad base is ideally located for us to pick up our owners from wherever they choose on the West Coast,” said Volato co-founder and chief revenue officer Nicholas Cooper. “Given the speed, efficiency and luxury of the HondaJet, Volato is perfectly suited for their West Coast missions.” The company added that KCRQ’s base also allows it to serve markets such as Seattle and Cabo San Lucas, as well as Napa County; Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Las Vegas.

Atlanta-based Volato has six HondaJet lightweight twins in its fleet, with 18 more on order. Its other bases of operation are in Atlanta; Baltimore, Maryland; Houston; and St. Augustine and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

In a separate announcement, Volato said it received a Tier 1 Bronze rating from 4Air for carbon offsetting.
